About

Hello!
Mihai at the keyboard – thanks for stopping by.
I was born in Sibiu – right in the heart of Transylvania, where RedBull Romaniacs was born too. Not here to advertise them, but Romaniacs was the moment that sparked my passion for motorcycles. I watched riders throwing themselves through the forest with a kind of freedom that gave you chills just watching. That was the clear moment: “I want that too!”`

That’s how I ended up with my first motorcycle at 13: a 1995 Yamaha DT 80 LC2. The bike still lives with me, as a personal museum piece. It also gave me my first injury: an ankle sprain that kept me off my feet for almost a month.
The years went by, I gained experience and upgraded to a KTM 200 EXC. I took part in a few enduro competitions around the country, and started seeing beyond the raw adrenaline – organisation, community, the spirit of riding together.
At 18 I organised my first moto event: Rock the Hill. The first edition was everything I could have hoped for – a gathering with great vibes and great people. For the second edition I tried to do everything myself, without the help of those with more experience.
The result? A terrible route, broken friendships and a life lesson learned the hard way. After that, I stepped back from the moto world for a while, focusing on university and work.
Time passed, the disappointment faded, but the love for motorcycles never left. I got back in the saddle, this time heading in a direction that suits me better: adventure riding. Long routes, with a focus on offroad, through nature, through the mountains, wherever I can find peace, mud and a bit of a challenge.
I rode for a long time on a 2013 Honda CRF 250L, simple but perfect for my explorations. From June 2025 I upgraded to a CFMOTO 450MT, 2025 model, a motorcycle that gives me more power and comfort for long adventure routes.
In 2025 I set myself a two-day route from Sibiu to Orșova, a mix of tarmac and offroad, with roughly 60% offroad.
P.S. If that sounds good to you too, give me a shout — maybe we’ll meet on the road.
When I’m not on the trails, I run two personal businesses: I build presentation websites, online shops and custom platforms, and at the other business my wife and I sweeten the world with artisan éclairs, macarons, croissants and cozonaci.
Thanks for sticking around to the end of this story. I hope that through Dustpack I can keep sharing my passion for two-wheeled travel and for nature.
